Talk to a provider about wrinkle relaxers

A licensed provider decides what is suitable for you. Send a short request and ask your questions before anything is planned.

Areas people ask about

Injectables are discussed for different areas of the face, and the product type usually depends on the area. Wrinkle relaxers are often discussed for lines that show when you frown, raise your eyebrows or smile. Dermal fillers are often discussed for the lips, cheeks, chin, under-eye area and lines around the mouth.

That is only a map of common questions. A licensed provider looks at your face, your health and your medicines and decides what is suitable, if anything. Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows, and who may inject is set by Colorado rules.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and injectables

Most providers do not give wrinkle relaxers or dermal fillers during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, and many will ask about plans to become pregnant. If any of these apply, say so at the start of the consultation.

Other health points a licensed provider usually considers include nerve or muscle conditions, autoimmune conditions, a history of keloid scars, active skin infections near the area, and past reactions to injectables. Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows, and the provider decides what is suitable for you, including the choice to wait.

Before you fill in the form

The consultation request form on this site asks for your name, email, phone, the service and a short message. For injectables, a message like "I would like to ask about forehead lines" is plenty. You do not need product names or doses.

Keep detailed health information for the consultation itself. Before that visit, write down your medicines, allergies and past injectables, and think about any upcoming events. Sending a request does not book anything. A provider in or near Colorado Springs receives it and may contact you, and you decide from there.

Questions about injectables

Do I need to stop any medicines first?

Do not stop a prescribed medicine without talking to the person who prescribed it. Some medicines and supplements, such as blood thinners, aspirin and fish oil, can make bruising more likely, so bring a full list to the consultation. The provider weighs it and decides what is suitable.

Will I be treated at the consultation?

Sometimes. Some providers can treat at the same visit if you both agree, and others prefer a separate appointment. Sending a request on this site does not book or commit you to anything. You can always take time to think after hearing the provider's view.

What should I ask an injector?

Ask about their license, training and how often they inject; which product they suggest and why; possible side effects; how they handle complications; and aftercare. The questions to ask page has a longer list you can print or copy.
